Government Camp to Timberline & back - 2015/01/03

For our fist hike of 2015 we set off from Government Camp with snow shoes in hand to hike up to Timberline lodge by way of the Cross Town & Glade Trails. We hiked up in the clouds most of the way but just as we reached the lowers ski runs of Timberline we started to get tantalizing views of the mountain. We continued to climb in bright sunshine to about 6400' before turning around. On the way down we tagged timberline Lodge then made our way down the Alpine Trail to complete the loop back to Government Camp. A good first hike / snowshoe for the year. About 8.5 miles & 2650' of EG.
