Valley of the Giants

Saturday April 24th we headed out with a small group from portlandhikers.org to find the Valley of the Giants. A small Island of protected old growth temperate rain forest (averaging 180" of rain pa) in the Coast Range west of Falls City. Valley of the Giants is a destination not somewhere you stop by on the way to somewhere else. Falls City itself is out of the way but to get to the Valley requires another 30 miles of driving on gravel roads, that's a 60 mile round trip on gravel! We also spent a few minutes checking out Teal Creek Falls & Falls City Falls.
