Osmanthus delavayi
One the many great plants introduced by the French Missionary & Plant Explorer Père Jean Marie Delavay (1834-1895). It's pretty safe to say that any plant that bares his name is worth a spot in your garden. He sent seed of this plant to the French Vilmorin Nursery in 1890 but only one seed germinated. The plant was not collected again in the wild until after World War 1 when George Forest collected seed.
