2021/04/26 We set out for 3 days in central Oregon visiting the various parts of the John day Fossil Beds & the small towns along the way. Besides my digital Olympus OMD 10 I took two older Olympus cameras with me too! One was my OM1n with a Tokina AT-X 28-85 F3.5-4.5 lens attached loaded with Kodak Pro Image for color landscape shots. The original OM1 was introduced in 1972 and continued until 1979 when it was upgraded to the OM1n which was made until 1987. This one has a date stamp of SOX which translates to October 1980 Over the 3 days I shot 2 rolls of 36 exposure Kodak Pro Image 100 film & all the photos are shown here.

We stayed at and Air B&B just outside of Mitchell, a cattle ranch that became our base of operations! The are three main units to the John Day Fossil beds. The Painted Hills nine miles Northwest of Mitchell, Sheep Rock which includes the Blue Basin & Foree about 38 miles East of Mitchell and finally Clarno about 60 miles North West of Mitchell.
