Notes | The Canon F1 was introduced in 1971 to be a direct competitor to the Nikon F & Nikon F2. A professional grade camera with a huge array of accessories & interchangeable parts. It was designed to provide over 100,000 trouble free shutter cycles. The original F1 was made from 1971 to 1975. The camera underwent some minor modifications in 1976 and became known as the F1n. In 1981 The F1 was upgraded again & in many respects became a completely different electronically controlled rather than mechanical camera. It became known as the F1N or the New F1. This particular camera is an F1n Lake Placid Edition made in 1980 to celebrate the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics. |
