NotesThe first of the OM revolutionary camera designs by Yoshihisa Maitani. Actually not quite the first as the camera was released in 1972 as the M1 (M for Maitani!) When Leica found out though they sued claiming trademark infringement and so Olympus changed the name to the OM1. It's reported that some 5000 M1 cameras were sold and these now command a high price on the collector market. The simplicity of the camera makes it one of my favorite cameras to use.
