Pentax Auto 110
Photos in this Gallery were taken with my favorite 110 camera the tiny Pentax Auto. The flash unit was also used and the camera was loaded with Lomography's Orca 110 B&W film.
This is by far my favorite 1970's 110 camera, a marvel of engineering with it's miniature size and interchangeable lenses. Sometimes it's hard to remember that this is still a 110 camera with all that comes with 110 film and it's grainy tiny negatives!Making Jam

Olympus 35SP
Made between 1996 & 1976 the Olympus 35SP is widely regarded as the best of the Olympus 35 Rangefinder series. The camera is fully mechanical, famous for its dual metering system of center-weighted average & spot metering. Some say it was the best Rangefinder ever made of any make ever made, it's certainly one of the best!
This was my first time to use this camera, I loaded it with some expired 2008 Fujicolor Superia 200. The photos were shot a multiple locations including the beach & on mountain snow and it handled all locations with ease. The photos can be seen in the following galleries. On Roads End Beach
2020/11/29: A walk along Roads End Beach just North of Lincoln City. A few more photos taken with my Olympus 35SP loaded with 2008 Fujicolor Superia 200.

2020/11/27: A hike up to the Cloudcap Inn via Tilly Jane from the Cooper Spur Ski area. More photos taken with my Olympus 35SP loaded with 2008 Fujicolor Superia 200. The cameras metering system handled the snow really well. I also think that the old 2008 Superia film has a nice look to it.

2020/11/22: A birthday hike along the East end of the Klickitat Trail. These are the first photos I've taken with an Olympus 35SP. It was loaded with 2008 Fujicolor Superia 200. I really enjoyed using the camera.

White River to Timberline
2020/11/08: Photos taken with my Olympus OM10 loaded with Kodak Elite Chrome 100 (exp. 2013). The Elite Chrome was purchased as frozen since new and still has very saturated colours.
The mirror mechanism on the Olympus froze as we climbed and the temperatures dropped into the mid 20s. The camera returned to normal operation though as we descended and things warmed up a bit!Yaquina Head Lighthouse

A hike on the beach from Devils Punchbowl to Yaquina Head. Unfortunately our Schedule and the tide's were not aligned and we arrived at Schooner Point at high tide blocking our way forward for the last mile of the beach. since we could not get to the lighthouse on foot we drove there before returning home. Ghostly pics!
2020/10/24: So what's left to capture the light on cheap Soviet block era Svema film from the early 1980's when you shoot it 35 years later in 2000?
Answer: Not much!! These photos were taken with an Argus Super Seventyfive on a roll of Svema 120 film ASA250 that expired in 1985. At fist you see only fog but if you look closely ghostly images area ☺.Gresham in Tasma NK-II 100
2020/10/31: This is the first roll of the Russian film Tasma that I've shot! I found it to be a difficult film! I've taken a lot of photos with my little Olympus XA before & it has always done a stellar job but a lot of these photos were woefully underexposed and I had to tweak them in post processing even to get an image. I may give it another go in the future but I've got lots of other films to try first!
Gresham in Perutz Primera 100
2020/10/31: I finished off the roll of Perutz Primera (2005) in the Canon A1 with a Saturday afternoon walk around Gresham. But I switched out the long Tamaron lens for the Canon FD50 F1.8. Again I liked the colors produced by this 15 year out of date film.

Johnsrud Moonrise
2020/10/29: I went over to Johnsrud viewpoint after work to watch the moonrise. I used my Canon A1 with a Tamron SP 35-210mm f3.5-4.2 lens attached. The film was some 2005 expired Perutz Primera 100, an old German film company purchased by Agfa in the 1960's. But it still produced film under it's own name.

Gresham in Sensia 100
2020/10/24: I finished off the roll of Fujichrome Sensia 100 (exp. 2005) in my Konica S2 (1965). With a walk around downtown Gresham. This slide film had no storage history but had held up remarkably well!
Willamette Falls
2020/10/22: I stopped at the Willamette Falls Overlook twice in one day. Once in the morning on the way to Canby when it was cloudy & once in the afternoon on the way back when it was Sunny (This is the morning shot). The photos were taken with a 1965 Konica S2 Rangefinder using old Fujichrome Sensia from 2005. This pano was made by stitching 4 negative scans together.
The Konica S2 is well known for the quality of it's lens, The S3 which has the same lens is an expensive sought after camera but the S2 can often be found for a song! mine was $40.00 on ebay. It would not focus to infinity when I got it but luckily a quick internet search revealed that the S2 has an easily accessible adjustment screw to fix the horizontal focus. I was also pleased that the light meter is still working on this 55 year old camera. The Phantom Ship
2020/10/16: We made a dash for Crater Lake in October with 2 Cameras. One was a Cononet GIII loaded with Agfa HDC Plus 400 film that was was about 20 years out of date (from what I can tell the film was only made between 1998 & 2001). The other camera was a Canon A1 loaded with Fresh Fujicolor Superia 400 and for the first time a Tamron SP 35-210mm f3.5-4.2 lens that I picked up on ebay for $30.00! This photo is from the gallery of the Canon A1 photos.

The Super Seventy Five!
Argos Cameras were made between 1949 & 1964. The Super Seventy Five Model between 1954 & 1958. Super because it allowed you to have a choice of 3 F stops 8, 11 & 16. Argus cameras use 620 film and you definitely need a 620 take up spool but you can fit a 120 film spool into the supply changer if you cut the spool flanges down a bit which is easy enough to do.
Svema B&W 250
I'm not expecting much from this circa 1980's Svema Film all the way Russia! It will be fun to play with though! First I have to figure out how to get it out of it's packaging & into a 35mm cassette completely in the dark!

The Canby Ferry with a Lubitel 166
2020/09/22: I took the Lubitel 166 out for a spin again! I alwasy get more frustrated than rewarded with this Camera though! The first 6 shots were taken at the coast, three were duds one accidentally a multiple exposure and two blurry but passable. I finished the roll off on the Canby Ferry, these all worked but are not particulary great! I think it's going back on the shelf or a while.
When you keep forgeting to wind the film on!
2020/09/18 The Peter Iredale & Ilwaco All in the same shot! Amazing how often I still forget to wind the film on in my Lubitel 166. Since there is no safetry from preventing you from taking another shot unintentional multiple exposures are common!

2020/09/24: Just a few photos taken to finish off the roll of Ektar 100 in my Pentax K1000. This photo was taken at St. Cloud on the Washigton side looking over to Oregon and the forests burned in the 2017 Gorge Fire.
Lower South Falls at Silver Falls State park.
2020/09/24: Some photos taken at Silver Falls State Park just a couple of days after it reopened after the nearby wild fires. Word wasn't out yet and we almost had the place to ourselves! The photos were taken with my old Pentax K1000 which unfortunately developed a mirror lockup problem on the day! I used Ektar 100film which was a bit slow for handheld on the day! I would have been better off with faster film or a tripod. Next Time!

Analog Portlandia - Lomography Metropolis @ 200 ISO
2020/09/20: 2020/09/20: I finished off 2 rolls of film with a Sunday afternoon walk around Portland. One was Kodak Pro Image 100 in an Olympus XA. The other was Metropolis 100-400 loaded in my Canon A1. I really like the colors of the Kodak pro Image especially the greens & yellow. The jury is out on the Metrolopolis whhich I shot at 200 ASA.

The Astoria - Megler Bridge by night!
2020/09/17: I tried to take some long exposures of the bridge from our Hotel balcony but was not successful for 2 reasons. The mist in the air reflected a lot of white light from the Hotel. I also learned that the Canon A1 is not a good choice for long exposure as the battery quickly drains. It would have been better to use a completely mechanical camera for these photos.
Last of the Megler - Astoria Ferry Boats - Tourist #2
2020/09/17: A few phoptos taken around Astoria and Ilwaco WA. on September 17th & 18th. Unfortunatley the battery in the Canon A1 died & I didn't have a spare. I was shooting with a roll of Lomography's Metroloplis 100-400 film. I set the ASA to 200. I think the film would be good on a Sunny day but for me the colours of it a too subdued in cloudy misty weather.
Crabbing on the Columbia
2020/09/19: A great morning crabbing on the Columbia River with the Black Dog Guide Service on the Grey Dog boat! Photos were taken with my Olympus XA and Kodak Pro Image 100 film which I was using for the first time. The film has been available in Aisa & South America for a long time but Kodak only recently made it available in the US. It's sold as a film for portraits but I like the somewhat muted colors.
